Werewolf Sighting In Europe!

Reports and legends of werewolves have surfaced from nearly every continent and from centuries in the past. Though often thought to be only in myths and the past, werewolves, or lycanthropes, have been the subjects of numerous sightings in the 20th century. Some of the most intriguing sightings have occurred in Europe; namely Scotland, England and Germany.

Sightings in Scotland have included an occurrence in the 1950s when a witness claimed to have seen a hairy beast with what appeared to be a wolf’s head, and one in 1967 when a driver reported seeing an animal run by that looked like a wolf and man combined. Harkening images of little red riding hood, a woman in England during the 1940s reported seeing a giant werewolf in the woods while she was picnicking. Whether or not she had read one too many fairy tales is unknown, but she is not alone in her insistence upon seeing werewolves in England.

Another sighting in Buxton reported that a wolf, supposedly a werewolf, was seen running at incredible speeds. A popular sighting in Germany occurred on an Air Force base and involves an old legend about a werewolf who had been killed by villagers in the area. A candle had been lit to protect the village from the werewolf, but when the flame went out one night in 1988 the werewolf supposedly returned. Whether these stories are fact or fiction may never be resolved, but the numerous sightings and years of reported incidents with werewolves causes one to take pause and reconsider his or her previous ideas of their existence.
